II. Data Storage

YesterYears stores your diary entries on your device. When iCloud Sync is enabled, entries are synced to your private iCloud account. We do not operate servers that collect your diary content.

• Local Storage: By default, all diary entries are saved locally on your device
• iCloud Sync (Optional): When enabled, data syncs across your devices via Apple's private CloudKit database
• No Third-Party Servers: We do not collect, upload, or analyze your diary content

III. How We Use Data

We do not sell your data. Diary content is never used for advertising or analytics. Export is initiated by you and shared only through the system share sheet.

• Diary data is used solely to display and manage your entries within the app
• We do not collect personally identifiable information
• We do not use third-party analytics or advertising services
• No account system, no third-party tracking

IV. Your Choices

You can export your entries at any time from Settings. To delete data, remove entries in the app or delete the app from your device. iCloud data can be managed in your Apple ID settings.

• Data Export: Export all entries as a JSON file with timestamp, app version, and complete fields
• Data Deletion: Delete entries individually in the app, or uninstall to remove local data
• iCloud Management: Manage cloud data in Apple ID settings

V. Privacy Protection

You can enable Privacy Protection in Settings to require Face ID, Touch ID, device passcode, or a custom passcode when opening the app. Passcode data is stored securely in the device Keychain and never leaves your device.

VI. Third-Party Services

YesterYears may use the following Apple system services:

• iCloud / CloudKit: Optional cross-device sync (requires your opt-in)
• App Store / StoreKit: App distribution and paid purchase
• System Keychain: Secure storage for app lock passcode
• Local Notifications: Daily writing reminders (requires your authorization)

These services have their own privacy policies. We recommend reviewing Apple's relevant documentation.

VII. Children's Privacy

We value the protection of children's personal information. If you are under 14, please use this app under the guidance of your guardian. We do not intentionally collect personal information from children.
